5 Reasons to buy the LG G5

The LG's flagship G5 is the most underrated phone among flagships of 2016. In a world of 'galaxy's and iPhones, the LG phones quickly get ignored. But I've seen potential in this phone that makes it better than its competitors in more than a few ways and I'm trying to bring this awesomeness into the light. So here are my top 5 reasons to go with LG G5 as your premium purchase.

#1. Innovation with modularity

I agree the modular design was more of a gimmick as the LG add on accessories called friends are currently only available in Korea. But still, it's one of the rare species of smartphones that offers a removable battery. And if you do get your hands on a G5 friend, you can show off by snapping it on your phone! Besides the battery life on this phone is great! Even with the smaller 2800 mAh unit, it matches the S7 edge with a huge 3600 mAh. Props to LG for their excellent hardware optimizations.

#2. Widest angled rear camera

The rear camera, as you probably know, is a dual sensor setup. One is a regular sensor and the other one is a crazy 138° wide angle sensor. You get amazing filed of view with it and the quality is excellent. Just as good as the awesome galaxy S7/edge, maybe a tad bit darker due to slight aperture variation. But still better than 85% phones in the market.

#3. Raw power!!

The phone has the same hardware specs as a galaxy S7 or a HTC 10. It runs on a Snapdragon 820 octacore SoC with 4GB of DDR4 RAM and an Adreno 530 GPU. It's a monster when it comes to intensive tasks. Games load up fast, apps open quickly and RAM management, though not the best, is still better than the S7.

#4. The front camera!

Yes I had to mention it seperately because this isn't a vanilla camera sensor. It's one of the widest angled front sensor that I've seen on a smartphone. It captures more details than the 5 mp sensor on the S7 and it's on par with the HTC 10 front cam with OIS ( which is still the best, in my opinion)

#5. The playful LG UX

You may not like the look of the UI initially, and think it's childish, I did too. But once you start using it more, you'll enjoy the available options for you to play around with. The phone's tagline is, after all, play more! If you don't look for sophisticated perfection everywhere, this can be a pleasant surprise for the right minded.

Bonus point: PRICE! It's much cheaper than the galaxy S7 edge or any other badass flagship. You can get it within 35,000 INR or $510
Aren't there better phones out there at that price range? Yes there are. Phones like the OnePlus 3T 128 gig version are superior in performance. But really, you can't go wrong with the G5. After all, it was a flagship, not a premium mid ranger!
