Still worth it?

LeEco has set a new record in the smartphone market by selling over 78 million units. Their latest offerings are Le 2 and Le 2 pro in the budget segment, and Le max 2 in their flagship segment.

They say they are targeting the premium Samsung galaxy S7 edge with their flagship, which costs significantly less than Samsung's child. But does it stand a chance against the Korean giant? Let's find out.

Design: The le max 2 stands out to be LeEco's most premium offering , with near bezel less design and smooth chamfered edges. A big camera on the back with a fingerprint sensor. The phone weighs about 180gm and is 8mm thick. It's almost the same which we saw on the earlier Le Max, and though the camera is slightly protruding, when they make it look this great, why would anyone complain?πŸ˜ƒ

Display: The display on the Le Max 2 is a 5.7" QHD AMOLED panel, with brilliant saturation and excellent viewing angles, as expected from a 2K display. This phone beats out it's competitors like the xiaomi mi5 or the Oneplus 3, which have only 1080p fullHD.

No headphone jack. Keep that in mind
Performance: let's get to the horsepower section. The LeEco flagship joins the high end category with its powerful Snapdragon 820 SoC and either 32GB/4GB RAM or 64GB/6GB RAM variants. It's coupled with an Adreno 530 GPU. So graphic rendering and media consumption is an absolute pleasure on this phone, along with that beautiful 2K panel.
The only downside of this phone, is it's somewhat cluttered UI. The phone runs on the company's own ecosystem called EUI on to of Android marshmallow 6.0.1. Of course, it's personal preference, and many people wouldn't mind it, but I think they could've taken a little bit more simplified, stock-android-like approach.

Cameras are...Meh!

Camera: This is a segment where this phone has pleasant surprises for everyone. The rear 21mp Sony sensor with f/2.2 aperture does an excellent job. The photos come out to be well balanced in color, saturation, exposure and usually have stunning details. Even the low light shots aren't too bad either. Definitely not as good as the LG G5, or the S7 edge, but it costs much lesser than these phones. The front 8mp camera sensor will also suffice for your day to day selfies needsπŸ˜‰. The camera is definitely a strong point of the phone, and no matter what you are expecting, it will not disappoint you.

Battery: The battery unit on the phone is of 3100mAh capacity. It supports Qualcomm's quickcharge 3.0 technology. The standby time is surprisingly good. And even though it has a high resolution 2K display, you'll still get around 5½ hours of screen on time, which is worth praising.

Pricing: The Le max 2 has seen massive price drops! Currently it is available on amazon for under 11,000 INR!. While hunting for an amazing experience on a smartphone, this could definitely be one of the many options which provides you pretty much everything, without breaking the bank.πŸ€“πŸ™„
